More Than a Pain in the Neck
When the vertebral misalignment known as a "subluxation" occurs among any of the seven cervical vertebrae
that define the neck, pain can be expected. Moreover, subluxation in this topmost region of the spine may give rise to organic
disorders that the average person might not expect. For instance, misalignment of cervical vertebrae may cause headache, dizziness,
deafness, sinus trouble, and other maladies of the head, neck, shoulders, and the tissues and organs that are closely aligned
with them. These problems may occur as a result of irritation or impingement of the nerve roots that emerge through spaces
in the cervical spine. By treating cervical subluxations, the chiropractor helps restore proper function to the tissues served
by these nerves.
